Avocado is a super rich antioxidant, and is also great for upset tummies and headaches. Most aussies use avocado in savoury dishes, but in Brazil it’s mainly used as a sweet (mmmm avocado icecream). Throw in some potassium rich banana, agave syrup to help metabolise the alchol, and some natural fats from almonds to help replenish your energy, and you’ve got a perfect hangover cure!
The texture of the avocado gives a creamy velvety finish to this smoothie without using any dairy products – so this smoothie is actually completely vegan.
1 ripe avocado
1 ripe banana, frozen
2 cups almond milk
1 cup ice
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp agave syrup or maple syrup
½ tsp ground cinnamon
- Place avocado, frozen peeled banana, almond milk, ice, vanilla and agave syrup in a blender, and blend until smooth.
- Pour into a glass and sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve immediately.
