Berry Cacao and Almond Breakfast Smoothie

Nutella Peanut butter banana bang!

This smoothie is a super food smoothie. Use berries as they are low in sugar and high in antioxidants. Almonds for crunch and are low GI, to get you through to lunch. Chia seeds are high in fibre, have more vitamin C then oranges and more calcium then milk. Head down to your local health food store and buy some Maca powder which is kind of like your energizer hit, Spirulina to give you a good hit of protein, and finally Raw Cacao Powder adds a chocolate flavor and is also high in antioxidants.

Makes 4

2 cups frozen berries
1 tsp of maca powder
1 tsp of spirulina powder
2 cups soaked almonds
ΒΌ cup chia seeds, plus extra for garnish
1 heaped tsp raw cacao powder
2 cups water
2 cups ice
1 cup coconut cream


  • Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth and there are no more chunks of ice. If smoothie is still a bit thick add some more water and blend again.
