A little gem near the Bay – Parker’s Cafe
I am lucky enough to be part of a group of ex-pat friends who meet weekly for a coffee catch up after we ditch the kiddies at school, and sometimes we even indulge in a late breakfast. Myself and another friend are the only ‘locals’ in the group, that being said it is open for anyone to come along and share a laugh.
Once in a while we stray from the local cafe and head further south and today we struck gold. We found a fabulous cafe with great service and great coffee not far from the beach and close to Parkdale Station. Apparently it has been there for an eternity but it is my first visit.
We sat outside where the heaters kept us warm and ordered. There was a great selection on the menu which made it difficult to choose however our waiter was fabulous in letting us change things to suit. Nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was happy with their chosen dish and I especially liked Fiona’s dish, Breakfast Fritters with Smoked Salmon, Poached egg and Bearnaise Sauce (and she just informed me she snuck back to have it again!)
Reasonably priced, great service, great coffee and kid friendly. Can’t ask for much more.
