Wholemeal Pita Pizza

Pita Pizza

Mim from Chefsink has shared an easy weeknight dinner when you’re time poor (like all of us!)  Grab some wholemeal pita breads and various toppings and get the family together to build their own creations.  Just make sure you spread the pita with napoli or pizza sauce or even pesto as they can be a bit dry without the sauce base.  Then go crazy!

Ingredients (examples)

1-2 packets wholemeal pita breads (depending on how many you need to feed)
1 jar pizza sauce (or napoli or pesto)
Shaved Ham
Grated Cheese
100g pitted olives
Marinated artichokes (deli)
Chargrilled Capsicum
Cherry tomatoes, halved
Sliced red onion
Chili flakes
Bunch of Basil


Preheat oven to 200oC. Place pizza tray in oven to heat.

Pop all your ingredients in the middle of the table and give each persona pita bread.  Spread pita breads with sauce of choice.  Top with selected ingredients and place on tray in oven.  Cook for 10-12 mins or until heated.

Remove from oven and top with basil leaves and rocket or spinach.  Serve.
